Director Paddy Dunne gained over thirty year’s experience in coordinating large public works as Contracts Manager with the ESB. This role involved working with industry on the design and maintenance of highland medium  voltage electrical installations, Power Factor Correction installations and public lighting projects such as motorway and traffic lighting, stadium and pitch lighting, and general public lighting.

In 1994 Paddy established an ESB generator hire business in joint venture with McCormick MacNaughton, which he managed until his departure in 2005. The purpose of this business was the supply and installation of generators to meet various needs, from total turnkey projects to those where temporary power had to be provided at both low and medium voltage. Where medium voltage applications were required, generators were fed through step up transformers, complete with all MV transformers, associated MV cables and protection relay systems.

These roles required the management of large scale projects, the coordination of an extensive staff, and the development of key working relationships with major industry in the Irish midlands. The contacts and expertise developed in the realisation of these roles has created the solid professional foundation on which MegaVar Electrical Services is built.

Paddy went on to found MegaVar Electrical Services in 2005 with the objective of providing a top quality service in the
design, installation and testing of high and medium  voltage electrical installations in a safe and efficient manner.

He has overseen its growth into a leading High and Medium Voltage Electrical Service provider in the Irish and UK markets. He manages a core team of qualified electricians and general operatives with a proven track record in delivering the highest quality services to leading industrial and commercial clients.

    • Medium voltage power factor installation

    • Low voltage power factor installation
